Private Water System Permit Process
Private Water
System Permit Process
Effective April 13, 2006, the standard operating process for
obtaining an approved private water system permit will be as follows:
- Application is made by the
homeowner or their assignee.
- Within 10 business days the
application will be reviewed by a sanitarian and a site evaluation conducted.
- Upon approval of the
application a copy will be mailed to the owner/assignee and the private water
contractor. The approved application can also be picked up at the office or
faxed if that information is supplied on the application.
- The approved application
serves as the installation permit and installation can commence upon receipt of
the approved application.
- Prior to covering the
system the contractor shall call the office between 8:30 am and 9:30 am for an
inspection that same day or anytime after 9:30 am for a next day inspection.
Failure to obtain a permit prior to beginning construction of the private water
system will result in the permit costing 2.5 times the standard permit fee.
