“We want to reduce the number of tobacco users and improve the overall health of Clermont County,” said Health Commissioner Julianne Nesbit. Clermont County Public Health created a tobacco cessation counseling program this year to help people quit tobacco. “This class will be an introduction to our more in-depth counseling sessions. We want anyone who is considering quitting to attend and see what resources are available, and how we can help them quit,” said Nesbit. After the class any interested participants can sign up for individualized counseling sessions.
The class will cover the health and financial effects of tobacco use, education about nicotine addiction, withdrawal symptoms, FDA approved medications and the basics of a quit plan. Call 513-735-8421 to sign up for the class. For more information on tobacco cessation call Clermont County Public Health at 513-735-8421 or visit www.ccphohio.org.
